Does anyone know if my child can hand carry on his ipad onto Ryanair without it going in his hand luggage bag. Thanks for anyone getting back to me.

Not a problem as far as I can see. It would be no different to, say, boarding with a book in your hand. To go through security it has to be out of any bag anyway. Once on the plane it can be used in flight mode (preferably with ear buds, if there is audio, so as not to affect other passengers).

I thought it would be OK. As we are only taking underseat bags and it won't fit in with clothes and liquids. Thanks for your reply.

It has to be removed from the bag and put through the security scanner separately as with mobiles and other electronic devices.

Hi Martin. Yes I know that but what about when boarding the plane can it be held in your had or will it have to go in bag? Thanks sue

Would it not be safer to just slot it into a bag whilst they are getting into plane then get it out when settled, might save a few bob if they drop it?
