Can anyone tell me the dates of the Fiesta in Quesada this year, I know it's normally the first weekend in August but looking for confirmation. Cheers

6th August is the charanga - fun carnival parade - anyone can take part, just register at the town hall.

Here's a basic translation of the event:

On Saturday August 6, 2016 at 22:00 pm a traditional Charanga be held on the occasion of the celebration of the festivities in honour of San Justo in Ciudad Quesada.
The start will take place from the Avenue de Naciones. A jury of several people who will be located along the parade, judging the different costumes and five cash prizes will be awarded to the winners of the group category .
All ages can participate. Registrations will be taken at the Information Office of the town hall.

Sunday 31st July there will be the big paella served on the Plaza Blanca when there will be music, bar etc., too.
Starting at 1pm, the paela will be ready for eating at 2pm.

Here are the details for the whole fiesta (We have added the dates to this topic title now)

The Quesada fiesta takes place from 31st July until the 7th August and is located mainly along the Ave de Naciones (High street Quesada) and the Municiple centre town square (Plaza Blanca):

Sunday 31st July
2pm. There will be a Giant Paella in the Plaza Blanca and a bar Service

Thursday 4th August
9pm There is a Latina Party in the Plaza Blanca with performance dance perfomances.

Friday 5th August
10.30pm Grand International Show by the ‘New Wave’ and afterwards a mobile disco in the Plaza Blanca until 05:30 ( Be prepared for a few noisy nights around the area - best to join in the fun!)

Saturday 6th August
10am to 2pm Games for the children and a Water Bouncy Castle
9pm - Mobile disco ( Plaza Blanca).
10pm - Summer Carnival Parade along the high street and afterwards a mobile disco in the Plaza Blanca until 05:30.

Sunday 7th August (Fireworks night!)
10am Band parade through the streets of Quesada
10:30 am Mass in honour of San Justo in the San Jose church and after there will be a pilgrimage through the surrounding streets.
10pm Dance performance (Sofia Sanchez Dance School and the group Aguita Clara) in the Plaza Blanca.
Midnight -Fireworks follow and afterwards a mobile disco until 05:30.

CIUDAD QUESADA 2016

SUNDAY, 31^st JULY

At 2:00 p.m. Traditional Giant Paella in the Plaza Blanca of Ciudad Quesada (Bar Service will be available).

THURSDAY, 4^th AUGUST

At 9.30 p.m. NOCHE LATINA in the Plaza Blanca of Ciudad Quesada with the participation of the dancing school “Sofía Sánchez”. To follow, Mobile Disco.

Organised by HOLDING GROUP BARCELO with the collaboration of the Department for Fiestas of Rojales Town Hall.

FRIDAY, 5^th AUGUST

At 10:30 p.m. Grand Show by “THE NEW WAVE”. International repertoire.

To follow, Mobile Disco by Sonotec Audio till 5:30 a.m.

(All these events will take place on stage which will be mounted on the Plaza Blanca of Ciudad Quesada)

SATURDAY, 6^th AUGUST

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Grand Park for Children containing water bouncy castles in the Plaza Blanca of Ciudad Quesada. Don't forget your swimsuit and towel!

At 12:00 midday, the Musical “Wicked” in the Cultural Centre of Ciudad Quesada. The secret story of the Witches of Oz

At 9:00 p.m. Mobile Disco by Sonotec Audio on the Plaza Blanca of Ciudad Quesada.

At 10:00 p.m. Summer Carnival parade (same route as in previous years). Everyone is welcome to participate. Registration at the Tourist Info of Rojales Town Hall. Cash prizes for the best fancy dress costumes!

Followed by Mobile Disco till 5:30 a.m.

SUNDAY, 7^th AUGUST

At 10:00 a.m. The Band “Agrupación Musical Los Solfamidas” of Rojales parading round the streets.

At 10:30 a.m. Holy Mass in honour of San Justo in the “San José” church of Ciudad Quesada. Following the Mass, a pilgrimage will take place in the area around the Church in honour of San Justo.

At 10:00 p.m. Performance by the dancing school “Sofía Sánchez” and the group “Agüita Clara”. Enjoy an evening of dance and rumba.

At 12:00 midnight, Fireworks by Pirotecnia Fernández of Redován.

To follow, Mobile Disco till 5:30 a.m.
