Fiesta Virgen del Rosario in Rojales October 2016

Here are the main events for the fiesta for the Virgen del Rosario in Rojales for October 2016 (For the full programme of events see the link at the bottom of this post.

SUNDAY, 2nd OCTOBER
At 7:00 p.m.
Offering of flowers to our Patron Saint, the Holy “Virgen del Rosario”. Departure from Rojales Health Centre. We will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” (small clarinet) and drum, and the music bands “La
Lira” and “Santa Cecilia”, with the participation of our Queens of Fiestas, Authorities and all the Local Associations wishing to take part. During the offering and at its end, the Choir and Dance Ensemble “Museo de la Huerta” from Alcantarilla (Murcia)

FRIDAY, 7TH OCTOBER
Virgen del Rosario’s Day
Giants and big heads parading round the streets all day. They will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” and drum.
At 10:00 a.m. Music band “Santa Cecilia” parading round the streets.
At 10.30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, games and bouncy castles for children.
At 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of the “Virgen del Rosario” presided over by the episcopal vicar for the Vega Baja region Mr Jesús Ortuño Rodríguez and sung by the choir “Voces Amigas” of Rojales, with the attendance of Authorities and the Queens of Fiestas.
At 8:00 p.m. Solemn Solemn procession in honour of our Patron Saint the “Virgen del Rosario”,
9.30pm (Approximately) Fireworks.

SATURDAY, 8th OCTOBER
At 9:30 p.m. Fancy Dress Parade. Everybody is welcome to take part. Register at the Information Office at Rojales
At 11 p.m. Open Air Dance in the Malecón del Soto. Music by the“Orquesta Liverpool” Band.

SUNDAY, 9th OCTOBER
Valencian Community’s Day
At 10:30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, games and bouncy castles for children.
At 6:30 p.m. Music band “La Lira”parading round the streets, collecting the contestants of the ribbon race. All the participants will depart from the Rojales Town Hall)
At 7:00 p.m. Ribbon Race in the Malecon del Soto. Information and registration at the Information Office at Rojales Town Hall.

MONDAY, 10th OCTOBER
At 6:30 p.m. “Running of "bulls” through the streets of Rojales for all the public, starting at the Malecón del Soto.

TUESDAY, 11th OCTOBER
At 9:00 p.m. 2nd Festival “Night of Stars Rojales 2016” in the Malecón del Soto. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the performances of the people wishing to participate.
At 11:00 p.m. In the Malecón del Soto, Disco- Mobile by DJ Reina

SUNDAY, 16th OCTOBER
At 5:30 p.m. 3rd Crazy Cars Race “Villa de Rojales”

I presume the 'running of the Bulls' on Monday 10 does not involve real Bulls ?

No that's why they say "bulls"in inverted commas. I think they are people dressed up as bulls. Much more humane!

Yes, they will be the large inflatable type bulls...

And N.B. the Virgins day is FRIDAY 7th and there will be a big firework display at the end (around 9.30pm)

Thanks for that Martin. It is incorrect on the official programme but I have corrected the first post above on here now - Well spotted!
