The hoguera this year will have the theme of Alien Invasion and will be erected on Friday evening (16th) from 6pm near Mercadona.
(Not sure of exact location as they're moving it this year.)

This of course is the sculpture that will be burnt on the 20th.
Other towns will also be erecting ones - usually with some sort of political theme - and burning them different nights. (Guardamar's is usually pretty good and built beside the church where it will be burnt on night of 24th/25th June at 1 am!)

The Rojales one will be burnt on the night of the 20th after 11pm and following the 'Correfoc' or 'fire-run', when fire will be carried from the town centre to the hoguera.
The do recommend people attending the correfoc cover any bare skin and wear a hat as you are likely to get showered with sparks!

When they burn the effigy, the fire brigade will be there to hose down anything likely to catch fire, and if you're lucky will give the crowd a quick shower too!

There is a Hoguera Museum in Alicante which is well worth a visit.
