In 209 BC, Rojales was an important spot on the Via Augusta road from the Rio Ebro to Cartagena and over 15 days, Scipio 'The African' marched his Roman troops along it to attack Cartagena.
This year a group of re-enactors are repeating the feat wearing the clothing, footwear and eating the food of the time.
They will establish camp for the night in Rojales - the market ground - and invite anybody to visit, sample the food and learn about the Romans.
