I was shopping at Aldi Rojales at 3pm. Two swarthy young men with clip boards pretending to collect for a disabled charity. I gave him 2 euros , then he demanded 10.
Told him to off. After shopping they had disappeared.

Happens quite a few times at that place. Nothing to do with collecting for charity at all. I just shake my head and walk off when it happens. It's also one of the reasons I rarely shop at that particular centre, squeeze past the beggar by the entrance to Aldi, get stopped in the car park by bogus charity collectors and then try and use the door to Consum past the bloke who can't play the accordion. Much prefer other centres to that one.

Sorry to say that this con has been around forever!

Here's another topic about them:

A women was in the car park of Carrefour in Torrevieja, my wife signed the clipboard but when she was asked for 10 euro told her where to go.
A few days later 2 0r 3 blokes were on the sea front again in Torrevieja with clip boards but we just waved them away. Didn`t think it was legit.

There are no charities in Spain that allow soliciting in the street, or calling door to door looking for donations ..So , it is illegal !

However , if you see charity collection in the foyer of Carrefour , or Iceland , that is permitted , and perfectly legal.
