Guys...be careful out there. We have just been burgled on Atalaya 15. Returning from the UK for a quick February break....we have been turned over. Many small items stolen, but total £2k plus....and much damage. Potentially a male and a female but can't confirm. Be on your guard. Police aware. So bloomin' annoyed/upset.....just be vigilant...

Through double locked gates/locked grills....suggest you check out just how secure you think your grills are....and fit additional locks to delay these scumbags.

Soon to be alarmed. Thinking of grill alarms? Yes,on urbanisation but neighbours either out or in uk. Other than staying in all the time which defeats the idea of being out here permanently, use as many deterrents as possible. Salutary lesson learned.

They seem to be targeting people when they have just arrive. We were done n December and where
Unable to get to bank as it was shut for Xmas.
They took lots of money and jewelry as we were buying a car.
We have a first class alarm now you can't fart unless it goes off.

I am looking for a good first class alarm. I am moving in soon and the first thing I want to install before I move in is the alarm.
Sue&John what company did you contract and are you happy with them?
Another thing I am going to install is a good safety box.
I have heard a lot of people saying they are waiting for people to move in to crash in just when they don't expect to happen.

I would be very grateful for any information and experience with security companies.

First thing to do is to change the locks. There are a lot of spare keys to places hanging around. Not that expensive to do.
Not so sure on how effective alarms actually are here as you can't have the alarm box outside the house. It has to be inside and not sure many people would hear it unless you had permanent neighbours next door. We also had a car alarm go off and, with the way communities are built here, we found it very difficult to find out where it was coming from due to the echoing effect.
Yes, the alarm companies will alert the police but pretty sure these nasty so and so's are quite quick.

To Marcliff, , are there rules about protecting your property?

Is it a right , is it obliged, how far can you go in it?
Do there exist laws about it?

I have a garden spot who shines at night(250 watt) on my house and a “bird” slashed the glass twice now…
Must have been a big big bird

The whole street has garden spots on their house except 1 ……and that one asked 2 neighbours to change directions and suddenly their garden spot is also smashed…

We all put in a complaint against “somebody” but the police could not do anything as we don’t have a witness
Can you tell me something about the Spanish law around that please?

Not any light shines on that neighbours house, not 1 ray of light…
Regards C
