Does anyone know the route and timetable for buses from Alicante airport to Rojales. As I will be coming over on my own sometimes and have no transport.

There are no direct buses from the airport to Rojales. There is a bus direct to Torrevieja (even hours from the airport, odd hours from Torrevieja) but it doesn't stop anywhere en route. There is only one bus from Torrevieja (just after 1 pm) and a taxi would be about 20 euro.
You can get a bus to Alicante, then a bus from Alicante to Guardamar and then a bus from Guardamar (which run about every 1 and half hours) to Rojales from Mon-Fri. A taxi from Guardamar will be about 15 to 18 euro.
If you decide to get a taxi from the airport, book it in advance through the airport taxis site but it will still be 50 euro plus one way.

You can get a bus from Airport to Elche then on to Rojales which goes along the CV855

You have to go to Alicante City first except from July 1 to Aug 31 which is the only time the direct bus runs. The airport to Elche bus and then bus to Rojales will depend on the time you get there as I believe there are only 2 buses a day.
We have been hoping for ages that the Torrevieja/Airport bus would stop at Quesada on way but there is no sign of that happening.

could anyone tell me the cost of a taxi from Torrevieja bus station to Rojales please

About €23. However, there is a bus from Alicante (you'd have to get the bus to Alicante from the airport) which goes 4 times a day at 6.45, 10.00, 13.15 and 19.00. Cost is 5 euro with 4 stops (Santa Pola, La Marina, Urb La Marina and San Fulgencio and finally Rojales) and takes just over 45 minutes.

Obviously the cheapest way but may not fit in with your times and means two buses.
