Elche by train or bus - is it possible ?

I have friends visiting who would like to visit Elche tomorrow. I can’t take them, so would like to drop them at a bus or train station and pick them up later. Is that possible ? I can get then to SAN Isidro/Catral station - does that go to Elche ? Or do I have to go to Guardamar bus station to get them a bus to Elche ? There appear to be two train stations in Elche - which is the nearest one to Hort del Cura ?
How frequent are trains likely to be on this route ? Hourly or only one or two a day ?

There is a bus that goes to Elche from quesada arches but not very frequent, you can ask for a timetable at the town hall. I have also been on a day trip.to,Elche with rosa tours office is on the street behind the garage at the arches. Hope this may help.

These are times fro San Isidro & back from Alicante - Elche Parque is about half way.
