I am new to this area having previously lived north of Alicante where even some mountain villages have some kind of bus service, like Finestrat & La Nucia. One day I may actually see a vehicle that is a local bus although there are bus stops.Felt sorry last week for a young Spanish lady while I was at the arches waiting for a Rosa tour bus,who asked when there was a bus to Torrevieja.Maybe she is still standing waiting! This is the 21st.century & I believed(maybe foolishly) that Quesada was a young vibrant area but unless there are proper public services people like myself will want to throw in the towel & return to other more up to date places. This will possibly not be a comment that many on this forum agree with but I have lived in Spain since before this country joined the EU,saw abject poverty & then so much improvement afterwards, indeed I hear this from my Spanish relatives who are part of my family now.Is it because we British in this area are quite apathetic, shrug our shoulders & leave changes to the few who care about the place they life in?

AYUNTAMIENTO DE ROJALES SERVICIO AUTOB
I believe that the daily free bus operating from parts of Quesada to Rojales is no longer operational having not shown up for the last two days, such a shame as we do not have a car and relied on this bus to go into Rojales. Still it was great while it lasted. However, I assume the market bus is still running on Thursdays.

Depends where in Quesada you are.. it will likely cost about 6 or 7 euros in a taxi from most places in Quesada to Rojales center.

If there are 3 of you it will cost about 2 or 3 euros each .. is that too much?

Not always, one robbing so and so from the rank in Quesada centre charged us over 20 euros to the Marquesa golf course & when i questioned him he merely pointed to the meter & said if you aren't happy phone the police!!!!!!

If it was metered and it showed 20 euros from somewhere in Quesada to the golf course he must have gone via Torrevieja..

..

Mondo, he certainly didn't, he took the direct route up towards avda aeropuerto & down the hill to the golf course. I/we have lived in the area for almost 20 years & know our way around as well as anyone, this certain taxi/driver has almost always overcharged in our opinion & if/when we require a taxi we try & avoid him like the plague.
