If you need to go to Algorfa town hall, you will see Luis on the front desk. He speaks good English and is very helpful.

Your solicitor is correct. The architect should have done the amplification for you once the work was completed. He probably did not allow the cost for doing this when he quoted for obtaining the licence.
Furthermore if you are on a community you should have had 60% approval from all of those in the community.

Hi Holly,

This shouldn't prevent you from selling your property. We bought a house last year where approved building work had not been updated on the Deeds. The vendors submitted the application to have the Deeds updated, but as this hadn't been processed before completion, our solicitor retained Euros 400 from the purchase price to cover the costs and additional property/land tax. We subsequently received the updated Deeds from the Cadastre (Spanish Land Registry).

Kind regards,
Kim
