i am hoping to buy or rent in the area next year, I know most of the urbanisations that I would like to move to Quesada, and San Louis are two of my choices.

But I've noticed quite a few properties for sale in the Torretas but I don't know anything about this area other than having a walk around it last time I was over.

Can anyone recommend living there or not . And give me some info please.
Crime rate noise etc
Thanks in advance

Please remember that what you think is nice others will not, best advice is don't rush in to any area as all have parts that may not be to your taste. Rent walk around at different times and you will soon see if you like. Opinions are just that and don't let anyone put you off.

I bought in Las Torretas III last year. Where I am is on by a tarmac road, but very quiet, its not the main road where the bus goes. Within a few mins walk is the bus stop into Torrevieja itself, and it stops by the Carrefour. Having said that, we soon discovered the route to walk to it, 20 mins, or approx. 10 mins to the Hiperbern (Spanish supermarket) which I think is excellent. A swim pool about 10 min walk away, my 16 year old granddaughter loved it this July. There is also a couple of local shops, one sells all English food. There is also a selection of restaurants and bars and a bakery. There is also a boules area where on Tuesdays and Fridays various clubs come to play. I am still discovering places to walk too, Oh almost forgot, the salt lakes are also walkable, and lovely to sit there and watch the sun go down. On my street there are quite a few like me holiday homes, various nationalities, Swedish, Finish, Norwegian, and German, but my neighbour is Spanish and keeps an eye on my property, ie taking the leaflets from the post box. Don't know about crime, the only thing we have found is that people don't appear to pick up their dog mess, but that happens in UK too. Hope you find your Spanish home.

Unfortunately there's always the rare possibility of crime, follow simple rules lock up remove valuables from site never walk around with a handbag slung over your shoulder unless its got nothing in and is easily taken,I,m sure most on here have not been robbed but have heard a story of somebody who has, just like any where in the world,or most places in the world
