Recycling rubbish

Can someone please advise about what I can put in the recycling bins? I am keen to recycle as much as possible but don't want to put the wrong things in the bins. For example where I lived in the uk you weren’t allowed to put in plastic bottle tops or yogurt pots. In Spain do they recycle every bit of packaging that has the recycling emblem on it?

Whilst you can put anything at all in the big green bins (except garden waste which many people do), there are several recycling areas around. On the roundabout by Consum and opposite Cooper's, for example. The bins are clearly marked with tins, glass, plastic, waste oil, cardboard, paper and so on with clothing ones as well.
We always try and use them when we can but I must admit a lot just goes into the big green bins.
You can get a waste disposal pass from the municipal town hall or Rojales town hall to allow you to use the refuse centre just up from the water park. This is where things like garden waste, building rubble and other things go. The pass is free for those on the padron.

Whilst I am sure what Marcliff says is true, I took some stuff down, the other day, and the guys let me in, no problem.

Marcliff I noticed you mentioned tins but when I asked at the Town Hall some time ago about recycing tins as i had 3 bags full of them they said that you can't recycle tins, has that rule changed now please? It does seem crazy with the amount of tins that must be used over here.
Thank you

Tins go in with plastic in the yellow bins; paper goes in to grey bins & glass goes into the round green bins.
Batteries go into the little red bit on the side of some yellow bins marked 'pilas' - or all shops that sell batteries have to have a disposal point too.

Not sure about the bottle tops.
Some people used to collect them and sell them for charity etc. - the health centre was one - but the volumes necessary for that has made it unviable.
Yoghurt pots can be put in if they have the recycling symbol on them.

There is a bin specifically for cans and tins just by us on Avda de Huelva.

Just to correct something that Marcliffe has said. You cannot take builders' rubble to the refuse collection depot near the aqua park.
This has to be removed in a skip. I have seen small amounts put in the street bins.
