Is there anybody in Quesada area that does house surveys prior to buying. I hear so many times don't worry it will be ok?

We used Don Aluminio to do a survey on our apartment prior to buying. It cost €250 (that was in Dec 2016) and they did a thorough survey and sent us a detailed report. It was just for peace of mind so was money worth spending in our eyes. Contact [email protected]. They advertise on this website and are well recommended by many posters.

Don Aluminio also did a survey for us whilst we were in the UK and did a detailed report with pictures of faults with an estimate for repairs and we used this to get the price reduced which saved us a lot of money, we would highly recommend them.

Maybe a stupid question! Does the surveyor check that the underbuild, pool etc. are legalized or is that all in the hands of a lawyer?

All legal work is done by the lawyer and it has been said may times before but get an independent one it is very important! As the lawyer will not visit the property if it has a pool check with them it is on the deeds if it has been extended this would usually be noted in the survey but you may not always be able to tell so check the no of rooms are the same as is on the deeds if you find a discrepancy ask for it to be checked and measured by an architect to confirm everything is in order.

As Scubydoo says, it's a lawyer who checks the legality of underbuilds etc, however Don Aluminio checked the structure and condition of our underbuild and made recommendations where necessary.
