Could anyone advise if keysafe is used in Spain. It is a bit of a nuisance posting sets of keys to friends and family who want to use my property, so was wondering if leaving keys in a keysafe box outside would be a way forward as it seems popular in UK

Many people use them but don't put it in view as they are not that difficult to break into Leroy Merlin sell them.

Why not leave them with a friend or someone you can trust.
That’s what I do , with no problems

When we bought a key safe for my elderly mother for her community alarm people and carers in the UK to use, we were advised not to buy a cheap one. We bought a strong, police approved key safe that is difficult to break into. Some key safe's can be knocked off the wall with a hammer and then broken with the hammer to open them. So best to look into the strength of them before buying.
It is better to have a registered keyholder though.

You certainly shouldn't get one of these:

My dad had one, and one of the carers somehow managed to reset the combination.
A bit of googling revealed how to slip the cylinders of the lock using a feeler gauge to feel for the dogs falling into place. First time around it took me about 2 minutes to get it open, after a few tried I could do it in less than 30 seconds.

Even a substantial safe wouldn't take many blows from a sledgehammer to knock it off the wall, then they can take it away and cut it open with an angle grinder and return at their leisure to let themselves in.

Pete.

Why not have keycode lock fitted to the door , plenty good ones on market, they can be programmed to tell you who enters, what time and date they entered.

thanks for all your responses. keycode lock sounds like a good solution. the problem with leaving with friends and neighbours is that some of the flights arrive late and i would be inconveniencing them too much if people were knocking on their doors very late or very early to collect keys. thanks again for your ideas everyone.

Make it difficult:- key safe on the outside out of view holding the keys for the underbuild only. Key safe hidden in the underbuild with the keys to the house. Need a torch or a phone!

You could still ask the neighbours to hold the keys and pop them in a keysafe when times are inconvenient, that is what we do, this way your keys are only in the keysafe occasionally and only for a couple of hours.
