Hi everyone.
I'm thinking of buying in Quesada. I'm just home from viewing a property in marquesa golf. My question is, are these properties in a safe location due to the construction work being carried out on rock face. I've notice signs on the pool saying use at your own risk. Is this crumbing rock a major issue.. am I going to come out for holidays and find my home amongst the rubble. Estate agent says it's safe and not to worry. Please advise. It's an apt I'm viewing .. rock area just behind. Thanks.

You can ALWAYS trust estate agents! One of the most honourable, ethical and principled professions around!

If the agent says ‘it’ll be fine’ then steer clear!!

There have been a couple of rock and mud slides in that area and one of them quite recently.
Not saying they would all be subject to that.

Having lived here for a couple of years, I would say most properties are safe, but not the ones overhanging the rocks - some of them look pretty dodgy to me! Floods and rock slides are only going to get worse from now on, due to climate change. Maybe get independent advice.

The rock face behind the properties are to changed to step down areas to avoid any future slides

Just for information, some of the Marquesa Golf properties have piled foundations.

This means the piles go down in to the bedrock,so the foundations are probably far better than thousands of homes with standard strip foundations.

The benefit is the property won't move (no cracks etc),and any tremors hardly shake the house.

It's all about research and asking questions before buying, not all properties are the same. A property with a steep hill immediately behind might be one to ignore, there are plenty of other great properties there that don't have a rock face anywhere near them.

Best area around, look at apartments opposite the driving range, some friends have lived there for years, no problems, and no rock face anywhere near, happy hunting.
