random bank charges - Sabadell

Hi

I have had a Sabadell acct since may this year, with no Bank charges until end of July . . . then there has been a flurry of fees/charges totalling about €80 . . . 2 x non residence authorisation charges of around €7 each and then 2x commissions/fees peticion certif no residencia?? of around €30 each, all of these on the same day . . .
Anyone know what these are for? I have made cash withdrawals from ATMs, made a bank transfer to someone in Spain and have the usual Community & utility fee debits etc but have been spread over the Months I have had the acct.
Are they normal or errors? if normal, how frequent are they? Obviously I am somewhat confused & alarmed having never in my life paid any sort of bank charge in the UK . . .

I will be speaking with the Branch when next over but would like some insight as to why they are plundering my account with so much in just 3 Months.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Your "certificado de no residencia" is a compulsory statement to the tax people that you are still non resident. This is done every 2 years and the banks charge anything from 25 to 35 euro per person.

Yes we have had this every two years and every bank we have been with has charged us around the same. Halifax (spain) before they closed, LLoyds (Spain) before they closed and Sabadell. It is, as marcliff says, a legal requirement for Non Residents and all banks have to do this service for us.
