I have finally got round to checking whether the card transfer looks worthwhile, which I did through online banking. I did not go any further when I reached the point where it said that because my card is not in euros there would be a 3% charge and it showed an exchange rate of 1.042 euro to the pound as against 1.09 elsewhere. Am I missing something because this does not appear to be the same deal as Ron Hill was talking about?

TransferWise charge £4-98 per £1000 and are currently offering €1.0929 per gbp. Transferee same day except weekends.

No it doesn't look the same deal though I've not tried it since I first posted this ans was only trying out of interest as I normally use TransferWise or Smart Currency Exch. when I tried Sadell at that time it accepted my in card and gave me an exchange rate about the same as those I mentioned above. However when it got to the end it said there would be a 10 euro flat fee no mention of a % surcharge but also said it couldn't complete the transaction due to an error and took me back to the start screen. As I said I was just trying out of interest and wondered if anyone had actually made a transfer. They may have changed the system since I tried it out though
