I'm with you clivespania. I don't know where to go when Deutschland bank goes. I thought the writing was on the wall when the staff changed and hours were cut. I wanted to deposit some cash and although I arrived 20 mins before they closed I was told to "come back tomorrow ". Very ubprofessional. Hope you have a successful find as we will probably follow you.

You can pay money in through the machine and take out up to 1200 euros per day through the machine

If you do large transfers for property etc check the transfer limit as they charge over a certain amount so better to send several smaller amounts

I've been with Bankinter for 12 years and they seem ok. Not had to many issues.

We have used Bankia (Bancaja) for about 15 years and it has never let us down... although we have everything paid through the bank so we don´t go often... we can use several different ATMs and some are free, but others will charge us 65 cents to withdraw 400 euros. They are always available on line and we can make appointments to see our manager as and when... must say though that we avoid the Quesada branch like the plague..

Don't touch bank inter unless you have straight forward and simple issues. When I lost my husband the bank was notified to change the account to me via the solicitor, all relevant paper work was given to the bank but they froze the whole bank account in stead of my husbands half the account, resulting in red letters arriving as they did not pay any standing orders. These arrived to my holiday home in Spain and I did not know anything until I went over a couple of months later you can imagine the mess. When I went to the bank they told me I had no money in the account (what they meant was I could not touch any of the money to pay outstanding bills) this went on for months until even though my so.icitor rang them, all they would say was they would pass the information on. Eventually one day the money was released into the account again and I was able to get everything back on track.
Bank inter did not care even though I could prove from my bank statements that I had over 10,000 euros in the account they reduced me to tears in the bank, and to this day never had an apology from them for the distress caused at a very difficult time.they do not know what sorry or an apology is, if you do not want your loved one to have this experience do not use BANKINTER

Flamencox, Sorry to hear of your experiences with Bankia, others seem to be OK with them.
It is interesting reading some of the replies , some for banks, some against.
It will take me some time to decide.
I’ve never had anything like your experience, must be terrible not being able to get at your own money.
What I have noticed over the years is most of the banks are OK as long as you don’t have to visit them. Hardly any one of them have any “Customer Service” attitude, something we always get in UK banks.
As an aside, how many staff on duty in Bankia Quesada?

I've been with Bankinter since 2004, and not had any major issues with them, I know they can be a bit slow at times to update your change in details, but I put that down to the relaxed Spanish way of life.

Have been with LA Caixa since 2015 and they have been fine. Indeed, have never had such a good bank manager who actually seems to know his customers and take an interest. But of course like everywhere, if personnel change this could change. Their online banking is good, which is essential for me.
