If you are British and UK becomes a non EU member. Your resident permit will need to be renewed every 5 years!!!
If you decide to change you citizenship is duel citizenship.
You WILL have to redo your resident permit .
.........Why it is based on your passports origin.!!!!!!!

I don't see anything relevant to the OPs claims but I did not delve too deeply.

All non-EU residents in Spain have to renew their residency certificates every 5 years so, unless some agreement is made, it may apply to us as well.
Bit bemused about the "duel" (sic) nationality bit. Spain does not allow dual nationality except from certain S American countries, Andorra and Portugal and you must give up your UK citizenship if you take out Spanish citizenship after 10 years.

Unfortunately, the OP's comments aren't clear, some of them aren't even complete sentences. I think the reason the link doesn't work is that because some of the information that Abaco Advisors circulate to their clients can only be accessed by their clients.

In any event, when/if the UK leaves the EU, with agreement, anyone who has achieved 5 years' "settled status" will be able to apply for permanent residency. However, if the UK leaves the EU with no deal, then the residency permit becomes irrelevant, as expats will have to undergo a full immigration application.
