We are non residents and have a joint account on which Bankinter charge us 45 euros a year to "operate" or in other words just have.

There is a Sabadell Branch just around the corner. Does anyone know if there "operating" charge for a joint account is less than 45 euros?

Sabadell Key Acct (designed for non-residents) has a €10/Month charge, billed quarterly. Their Expansion acct mostly for residents or Mortgage payers is free to operate but you must pay in €800/month to keep it free.
I have heard that there is legislation underway to limit Bank charges, but I have no idea how it will effect accounts like these

Sabadell's non resident "key" account is €35 per quarter (€140 per year). However, like all Spanish banks, they now have to offer an account that charges a max of €3 per month. Sabadell's basic account info' at ..... https://www.bancsabadell.com/cs/Satellite/SabAtl/Basic-payment-account/6000034843962/en/

Bankinter should be offering a similar account, enquire at your branch.
