Solicitors - Retain for a fee on an annual basis?

We purchased our property in March 2013, retaining the services of our Solicitor again this year for an annual fee. I would be interested to hear anyone's views on whether they do likewise each year or have taken the decision to fly solo and save the money?

Thanks,

Allan

Hi ours do the tax form etc. and it costs 120 euros plus our tax I believe it can be done cheaper but everything went so well with our purchase we decided to go through them but it will be interesting to se what other people do and costs etc. what is it costing you to retain them?

Hi our solicitor does our Suma and non-resident tax, they are also very good if you need advice on any official matters. We think it is worth it to retain them.

Yes, I agree definitely worth it to retain them as they take the worry out of everything to do with taxes and as wee_rene above says, they are always there for good advice too. We have used ours for an annual fee for the last 9 years, since buying the house and everything has always gone smoothly. They always send out letters/emails telling us the dates in advance for all the taxes each year and pay them for us by direct debit and our bank sends a statement to the UK, showing the transactions.
I suppose if you live here full-time you may think about doing it yourself but for the relatively small amount of annual fee I don't think I would want the bother even then.

We live here permanently and find the €140 a year our solicitir charges worth every penny. They do our residents tax returns and suma and at the other end of a phone or email if we have any problems. Outside of the the things we have to do like tax returns etc it is peace of mind money if we ever had an emergency we needed there help with it. I don't think you can do without them unless you speak fluent spanish and understand how all the different things work here plus as we know they can change the laws on things here and doing it yourself you may never be aware if it.

we bought our property in November 2013 and retained the services of our solicitor. She is very helpful and sorts out our taxes etc. Would not have the time or knowledge to do myself. Cost around 120 euros per year.

Hi,

Do you have a name and contact for a good solicitor, that can do the annual basis ? Does that include legal questions ?

We have been paying 60 euros a year for the last 15 years and it includes advice on all things. Excellent service. English too.
