As a non-resident you'll be lucky to get away with charges at any bank unless you put a substantial amount in each month (this varies from bank to bank and by age).

The current account normally used by non-residents which just covers standing orders and a little pin money will not count for free banking but, as some charge quite a bit more than others, it will be wise to shop around.

I have a Santander Zero account as non-resident and there are no charges (at present). The requirements are:-

€600 minimum deposit PCM
At least 2 direct debits on the account
At least €100 needs to be deposited from the current account to Santander shares PCM - this is automatically applied and the shares can be redeemed into your current account whenever you like, even monthly if you could be bothered.

As a day to day account, its fine and you say you have already bought in Spain so my caution is not for the OP. However, the BIG caution I would advise for anyone looking to buy in Spain is that Santander are one of the most expensive in terms of commission for a bankers draft. Given this somewhat archaic method is still used in Spain for the purchase of a property, the difference between the 0.7% Santander charger and the 04 - 05% many other banks do is not inconsiderable when you are needing a draft for hundreds of thousands of Euro.
