I asked Starling Bank if I could set up direct debits on my Starling Euro account

This is their response

"You can set up a Direct Debit to pay your Spanish bills. You can set up SEPA Direct Debits as well as Standing Orders.
Just bear in mind that payments are only made on working days, so any payment scheduled for the weekend or a Bank Holiday will leave your account the next working day."

I think in the past I have read that this does not work, can Starling users please advise, if it works and do they need a Spanish Bank account as well.

Thanks

Started transferring my DDs over with Starling with a view to getting rid of my Sabadell account, so far successful with my Internet provider and Iberdrola, the water is proving difficult and the next time out will visit the Suma and the Ubanisation Admin, think it is a great account and there technology is the best I have seen with banks.

I have only heard of positive responses regarding Starling banking, although I am not with them at present It might be the best option available.
I sort of tried to get a account set-up with Torfx, but every time I try to log into the account I am defeated by brick walls, I have not managed to get access since I first signed up at the beginning of this June and at first confusion reigned because I was contacted not just by the UK branch but stupidly by their Australian branch which is no use to a UK person.
So now I have given up on torfx, I can only regard them as useless and very unprofessional company.
So looking at all the positive responses that Starling have received I will give them a try.
