Sabadell are just crooks! Their website clearly states AND their branch staff tell you verbally that their ‘Expansion account’ is FREE if you deposit your UK state pension over €700 monthly.

We have both been charged €15 per quarter each on our expansion accounts despite our pensions being paid directly from DWP and we have complained to Sabadell several times.Their response is just the usual couldn’t give a toss attitude we have unfortunately come to expect from so called service industries in Spain!

Sabadell reply: Your account has been settled quarterly, applying the conditions in force for it.

That’s it, no explanation, no apology for lying to us, no interest in resolving a customer complaint asking the perfectly reasonable question, why we are being charged for a supposedly FREE account?

We also got hit for the €18 minimum for transferring €250 from Moneycorp to sabadell in a separate transaction. I’ll be checking out TransferWise this weekend.

I am also with Sabadell. I was in Spain 2 weeks ago . They had changed my bank to Another village.I went in to do payments and could not speak to anyone in English. So I could not do what I wanted. Do you know if there is an email address I can send to and get a reply in English.I also done 2 transfers and was charged 18 euros each. And I transferred it in euros.I also got charged 30 euros for having a card.

Katedaya open a wise account, change all your d/debits,close Sabadell & you’ll probably be more than €200 a year better off.
