Just checked my bank account this morning and see that my Non-Resident Tax payment has gone up by over 50% from last year.

Has anyone else seen this too and had an explanation ?

The standard rate of tax for Non resident accounts was 19%. Since we are no longer a citizen of an EU/EEA state this has increased to 24%.

However the payment for last year would be at 19%.

As Non resident tax is based on your properties Castoral value it's possible this has been re assessed by Suma, which would also have put up your Suma house property tax, thereby increasing your Non resident tax.

I would check with who ever submitted your non residents tax form for clarification

But is non resident tax not paid a year in arrears, so payment due at end of this year being that due for 2019?

Exactly so the payment they have just paid and the next payment will be at 19% so could not have not increased their Non Resident Tax payment.
