After a suggestion we have split the topic about the medical centre and put the posts about the Statins and Medications into its own topic here, which seemed a good idea as this in itself is an interesting topic.

It will then allow the Medical Centre topic to continue 'on Topic here on this link:

Good idea Jan, too many topics wander off the original post and get very boring.

:text-thankyouyellow:

It was a suggestion by a member of the forum and a good idea. We do try to split topics when necessary but some topics go so fast that we sometimes miss the chance to split them and always appreciate suggestions.

I think you might be opening up another debate similar to brexit. People have theur own opinions about statins and nothing will change their views

I take statins not for blood pressure as my blood pressure is normal.

Good idea however my original post was about my visit to the doctor and medical Centre - it just escalated due to my comments about blood pressure. It's a shame it can't remain under problems with the medical Centre as that was the purpose of the post

We still have the topic about medical centre here on this link;

health-services-in-quesada-f86/problem-with-medical-centre-in-dona-pepa-t13993.html

If I have moved any posts that you feel should be back in that topic just say and they can be moved back but the blood pressure etc is better in a new topic as it was detracting from the original medical centre topic.

This is big pharma at it´s evil worst.

Ab-So-Lutely, they are the biggest con perpetrated on the general public since I don't know when, I have been following this subject for some time now and I have noticed they keep shifting the goal posts (downwards) to pull more and more people into the net of hooking them for life.They now want to prescribe them to children. These drug companies invest a lot of money in developing these drugs and they give the doctors huge incentives(free meals, free holidays etc.) to push their products. The doctors will probably deny it but it's true.
If you think about it , why would the body produce something that is harmful to itself , cholesterol is a very necessary ingredient to the bodies wellbeing, it builds cell walls and is important in many other processes in the body, My doctor put me on them and I couldn't tolerate them, terrible muscle pains, I stopped taking them and the pain went. The thing is that the people on the governing body that decide the levels at which people should start taking them are directors of the drug manufacturing companies, (No conflict of interest there then).
They MAY be of some use to a person that has suffered a heart attack but not before. Every time I am given a new drug I go straight home and check it on the Internet. "Google" PHARMACOPEIA and look up what you have been prescribed . It has been known for doctors to misdiagnose so it's up to the individual to monitor their own wellbeing. It has now been admitted that it is inflammation that cause the problems, not HDL or LDL cholesterol.
I am sure this is a subject that will run and run because there is so much misinformation out there and people get very heated on the subject, so let the battle begin.
