Over the counter medication - is Rivaroxaban available?

**Sorry - this is a duplicate of a post I've posted on "General Discussion" but it's fairly important and could do with as many people who may be able to help seeing this**

On the off-chance someone knows the answer to this before Wednesday morning 9am

My wife's on a UK prescription for the blood thinner Rivaroxaban (brand name of XARELTO)

Foolishly, I've left this at home and I need to get some as a matter of urgency on Wednesday.

Can anyone advise if this is obtainable over the counter at a Spanish farmacia or is the process more complicated? (I may have to visit the health centre else)

Thanks in advance.

If you have the prescription then there should be no problem. Just show the repeat bit to the pharmacy and they will do it.
Xarelto is available here and the pharmacy will help you out even if you don't have the prescription.

Many thanks Marc. Guessed that might be the case. Haven't even got the prescription with us (we'd got plenty of meds to last for our stay). Got plenty of time to sort this tomorrow. Thanks for the sanity check :)

You are in Spain.
Nobody is going to let someone get really sick because of a problem with their prescription.
Relax!

Update - Visited Farmacia Adsuar this morning, very kind and attentive. Sorted me with a month's worth of tablets. Was expecting it to be expensive...and it was (85 euros compared the three free prescription my wife has in the UK) but given the circumstances, priceless nonetheless. Thanks all :)
