Getting a SIP card whilst working

Hello how do you get a SIP card for accessing medical facilities if you are getting a work contract, temporary or otherwise?

Reading through the forums and one persons situation seems to alter from the next and therefore the requirements seem to change. Some say you have to go to your nearest medical centre, some say the town hall, others have told me i need to go to the INSS office.

Does anyone know as a fact the how/where/what you need? Talk about a headache.

TIA

From your other post, you already have a social security number. You should have also received a certificate with it. Take this plus passport, NIE, padron to your local health centre and register. They will apply for the SIP card and should give you a temporary one until the permanent one arrives.

Oh, and your residency card.
