Just wondering if anyone knows the relative costs of medical scans over here, compared to the UK.

It seems that getting an MRI scan with the NHS is very difficult unless it's deemed an emergency. Likewise being referred to a Specialist. So I was thinking if it's possible (and reasonable) to see an Orthopaedic specialist and/or have a scan done in Spain when I come over.

As a non resident, I've been to the private doctor by the Quesada arches for the odd ailment over the years and thought the charges were reasonable.

Any thoughts or advice would be most welcome.

Hi not sure about MRI but a CT was 300 euros around 3 years ago if you contact Imed Elche or Quiron hospital Torrevieja they will be able to tell you.

Thanks for the advice. CT or MRI scan? I'm not sure. Perhaps I should see a Specialist when I come out to Spain. I was just wondering about the relative cost for a private appointment in Spain.
