Personally, knowing a bit about this as my mother is the same age and has care needs, I would only go on genuine recommendations from neighbours/friends in the area or recommendations from 'long standing' members on this forum, or maybe better still use an accredited Care Agency. I would never use someone who just says they can do this or replies to this post saying they can do it for you. This is a minefield and choosing a random person can be very risky for various reasons.

Too may people on here who suddenly becoming experts be it as a carer, dog / cat sitter , gardener , plumber, builder etc etc etc when a sniff of a possible job comes up

Thanks Jan, I'll try helpvegabaha and also care of the aged. Just trying all avenues to try and find the right person. He did have a wonderful lady coming to him three times a day but unfortunately she has gone back to her home country.

Hi All, thanks for all your comments. We did find someone who we thought was suitable but it turns out she is only available in the short term. We're still looking for someone long term so would appreciate if anyone knows somebody who might fit the bill.
