Hola.
My partner and I have been here a year today!!
We have Residencia,NIE car transferred onto Spanish plates on the Padron and S1 forms. We went to get what we thought were permanent sip cards but they are paper ones and only valid for a year. Is it because we don’t have Social security numbers? I am working but I don’t have social security number yet so slightly confused. If anybody could clarify this for me we would be extremely grateful. Partner is not quite at retirement age. I also have a 16 year old daughter so is it wise to get Social security numbers for all of us? Thank you in advance.
Bueños Tardes.

You normally get a temporary paper one to start and the permanent plastic cards will arrive about 2 months later. You will be given a social security number which is printed on the back.

If you are working with a contract the employer should have applied for a social security number.
If you have an S1 I assume one of you will be over retirement age and the other will be given a SIP card as a beneficiary.
Children under 18 will be given free healthcare.
