Is it easy to change doctors within the same medical centre? I've been urging my elderly mother to change her doctor but she said she can't. She won't go to the doctor she currently has, but she needs to. Thanks.

You get a form from the salou and fill it in asking to change doctors and giving a reason why.

I'm wanting to change mine too and this is the form I was given to fill in. The receptionist gave it to me.

Yes, it's easy enough, we did it. Be careful with your 'reason' though, as they can get offended if critical.

I changed my doctor at the same practice, easy enough but be careful when you put the reason as the doctor that I was changing from didn't like what I put although it was the truth & I had to change this on the form. It would be interesting to know if it is the same doctor that we changed from.

I was also refused about 10 years ago but trying again soon once I get around to doing the form.

So what's the best reason to give for wanting to change?

I asked the receptionist who we are friendly with and she said put that you were treated by Dr ??? at one time and liked the way she/he worked, made me feel at ease , something like that. I know the doctor I want to change over to so I can out the name.
