Medical attention

I’ve now been waiting almost 2 years for a hip replacement (before covid) and again today at my surgery and the hospital I can’t get a straight answer to when it’s likely to be done and just get fobbed off. Indeed today the receptionist told me there was nothing on file despite my having had all the pre surgery tests etc 4 months ago. My question is hat today I heard of someone who paid privately to have a report done which was then submitted to Torre hospital following which he was seen promptly.
Has any members experienced this?

I have a friend in the same position as you and has been messed around similarly. It sounds like a damn good idea (he was quoted €7,000 to have it done privately), so would be similarly interested (for him). Best of luck.

If I get any info I’ll be happy to share

My friend who is in Quiron atm got her hip done on Tuesday at a cost of €13735, she had to get it done private as they kept telling her that there was no ops getting done, She was in mortal agony, she was due to go in to Torrevieja hospital last March to have it done after all her pre ops were done but then covid struck, she is in good spirits and hoping to get home Friday or Sat.

Hi Ron
I am still in the same boat as you. My pain started in 2017, but after going thru physio, xrays, MRI scan, CT scan, as I have posted before, I need 2 new hips & now probably knees as well. Now my husband passed away in May this year, so I am on my own with no help & in constant pain. I have tried to badger the doctors & the hospital to no avail. Yesterday I went to the salud yet again, but still, even with my different circumstances they can do nothing. I certainly cannot afford to go privately, but as I can hardly move at all, I am paying for a cleaner. Don't quite know how I am going to get on, when my friends & family have to leave after helping me thru this difficult time, & after sorting out all the things after a death, taxes etc. We will see :(
