Torrevieja Hospital

A friend of mine has just had a knee operation at Torrevieja Hospital and her experience has left me in shock. She was put in a cubicle and told to undress. She saw the gown there so put it on. When the nurse returned she told her to take it off and lie on the trolley. There was just a paper sheet there so she put it on top of her. she wanted to go to the loo, and having no gown had to go with just the paper sheet wrapped round her. She was taken to the operating theatre naked, not even covered at all, and was awake during the operation so felt very exposed. When taken to her room she after the op they put a large nappy on her and told
her to use that!
My husband has had two knee ops, one at Torrevieja about five years ago, and they encouraged him to get out of bed and go to the loo almost immediately.
This is a horrendous story, and I can only think it is because of the change from private to public and lack of staff that this happened. To think though that they gave an elderly person no dignity , and operated on her knee without giving her a robe. just appalling . I would really like to hear from anyine who has had a similar exoerience lately. Makes me very scared if I ever have to go in for anything.

My husband collapsed on the pavement two days ago and my neighbours and I could not pick him up he was 8n so much pain, eventually we got him a chair and called an ambulance I visited him yesterday anD was told in English he could not eat or drink because he was having a hip replacement either In the evening or the next day and not to visit today he is 88 years old, yesterday I went out in the evening with friends I got a telephone call from the hospital I was on the bus coming back where I live when I had a telephone call can I collect him straight away I said I can’t I have had a drink she said I will have to send him back by ambulance I waited up until 12 he did not get sent home I am going to try and ring back it is ridiculous as yesterday I was told not to visit him today as he was having his hip replacement last night or today. He was in an observation ward people all in lines I presume waiting for operations,

i had a terrible time finding my hubby when he was taken in emergency for gall bladder, I was literally searching the hospital for him. Eventually my brain began to work and I went to the reception, lower floor, next to canteen and they told me his room number although he actuallyvwasnt in that room until four hours later! so if you do not know room number, or want any details if what is happening eith ambulance, go to that reception. Of course nobody in the hospital will tell you that, but I am! Do hope all is ok.

Blimey Chrisdee that Untold Stories site makes for uncomfortable reading.
I'd heard standards had declined at Torrevieja Hospital and thought it was just long waits at Urgencias, I had no idea things were in such a state. Quite concerning.

Theres also friends of ours have still had excellent treatment I just hope myself, hubby and dad steer clear and don't need to go, yes it is worrying. Our neighbour had an appt at doctors got in four and a half hours after his time. That was La Mata, think things have improved these past couple of weeks as they now have employed more doctors there.
