Be aware of people approaching you saying you are legally required to have your bottled gas lines and valves etc. checked and replaced after a period of years. Ambifuego, the installers of fires etc. have advised me this is not a legal requirement, it is recommended but not legally required. These con artists are around and charging outrageous sums to carry out works that you may not require carried out, if you do want this work done you should approach a registered company who can do this for a third of the price as these people are charging and you get a formal certificate of installation, something you wont get from the bandits as there not legit.

They've been around for a long time. Official looking uniforms and ID. Unfortunately, they are "legit" and can ask what they want. The police have been informed many times but can't do anything because the customer agreed to the work.
However, the official installation companies (like Repsol) will never cold call you or turn up at the door so tell these people to go away or that you have electric only.
Small gas installations, like fires and BBQs, do not need checking but things like central heating, gas water boilers, gas cookers and so on do and should be inspected every 5 years. Repsol will do it for a very reasonable price whereas these fly by nights charge excessive amounts and usually for work that is not necessary.

The company who installed mains gas in our area of Quesada was Alberto Sola of El Altet, rep. was Gary Van Put, mob. 650 904 289.
If he does not cover your area he may be able to tell you who does.
Your problem may be that if you do not already have gas installed in your street you may never get it.
If you have any neighbours with natural gas already you may be lucky. There are people in Quesada who paid for the installation in advance but do not have the mains gas installed in their part of the street as the gas company decided it was not economical.
The gas supplier by the way is GasNatural Fenosa based currently in Barcelona.

Hi, Any ideas how long two 35kgs bottles of propane may last running central heating in a not large detached house?
I realise you must gauge how warm you want the system to run and possibly keep some rads down a bit but any rough ideas would be helpful. Thanks
