Natural Gas Company SC

We have been approached by the gas company SC to see if we want a Gas Bolier installed.

We already have the pipes coming into the house (the previous owners sorted it) but it has never been connected. The deal is that the company will give us a free boiler and a cash back of €150 if we go into contract with them and in return we would have a to pay a one-off connection fee of €182.50 plus tax.

We would only use the gas for water as we have no radiators in the house. Currently we have an electric water tank that we use by timer.

Has anyone used this company, got any thoughts about changing over and the likely savings to be made please?

My neighbour and I have a gas boiler in our properties, (he lives in Spain permanently, I visit twice a year). we both use bottled gas, and he has stated that a bottle normally lasts about 3 months, uses for showering and doing dishes. the beauty of the gas boiler is that we get loads of instant hot water, but don't have to wait for the water to reheat as you do with an electric boiler. Knowing the price of the bottled gas, you know how much you are spending each year, and no standing charges.

Hi changing form electric will save you money our friends who lived here had a saving of around 30 euros per month. They have different tariffs for the gas you pay more per unit and less standing charge if you are using for hot water only I would go for the lowest standing charge and higher price per unit of gas. bottles are work out slightly cheaper I think but are not as convenient especially as you get older.

Instant hot water any time you want is better.

Many thanks for your help. Not sure it's going to be worth it just for the water.
