I’m not convinced that the OP is talking about unearthed sockets.
Regular earthed Spanish sockets have only two round pins, with the earth being supplied by two springy bits at the side.
The French version of the Euro socket does actually have three pins (well, two holes for the pins from the plug to go into, plus one earth pin that sticks out of the socket).
He says that he went to Leroy Merlin to fine these 3 pin sockets and they don’t sell them - which is true if he’s talking about the French style sockets, but clearly wrong if he’s talking about regular 2 pin plus earth sockets.
I’m guessing that the previous owners were French (or from one of the handful of other EU countries that use the same type of socket) and that the iron which won’t fit into the Spanish sockets originated in France, probably left by the previous owners.
