Had movistar come and fit a new Wi-fi router(2842)on Wednesday .Since then all devices on Wi-Fi lose WiFi signal (iPad ,Nexus phone ,Alcatel phone and a PC) at least 3 times in 24 hours all at different times .Have to turn each device Wi-Fi off then back on .Movistar have changed the channels on Box to 1,4 6 & 8 makes no differences .All this happened since new box fitted .They have said if they come out again its going to cost use 90 €.Can anyone advice please.
Many thanks

Have you tried restarting your new router?

Do you still have your old router?
If so, you could plug it in to your new router with an Ethernet cable and use it to act as a wireless access point.

Thank you Pete for your reply ,yes restarted the other day and they took the old one away .Got up this morning same again my phone showing a Wi-Fi signal but was not connected to internet ,so had to turn Wi-Fi off and on in my settings.(not just my phone iPad PC ect )Wired internet to TV OK ,so a Wi-Fi promble. It happens when there not being used(sleep)Its like the Wi-Fi box stops giving them an IP address .We have a Wi-Fi printer and the Movistar man told us to turn it off (still no differences) .It must be a promble with the new box ,I'll call them again today ,if not I'll buy a new Wi-Fi box myself and I'll see if that sorts it .This only started to happen when they fitted a new box .
Thanks again Pete for your reply

I've just had a replacement wifi router from Movistar too as my old one kept turning itself off.
Works OK - except for my old Mac which I wasn't using anyway - but have to connect my wifi printer by turning on the WPS on the wifi.
Press and hold in the small button beside the on/off button on the back of your the router for about 10 seconds till the WPS light comes on.
Then turn on your printer and it should connect.

My ADSL & phone contract is with Movistar, so when I had problem they came and replaced it free.
The model is: home station ADSL BHS-RTA. White with 2 aerials if any help.
If you are having problems I find Movistar are very quick and efficient in their service.
Pnone (or text your phone number to) 1002.
It's in Spanish, but guess a number to press - and sometimes you get an automated request to say what the problem is, so just say clearly 'internet' or 'wifi' (with Spanish pronunciation) - and when you eventually get someone to speak to just say 'English?' and they'll put you onto an English speaking technician.
They take your mobile phone number and notify you what is happening & usually fix it within a couple of hours.

Thanks Martin for your reply ,just called them and they have changed channel to number 10 (so been on 1,2 ,4,6 8 & 10 know) There must be a problem with the box ,but they will not say that ,so have to put up with going through all 11 channels.Told me could be my phone and Android system ,(funny that we have phones running on Android 5,6 & 7 also ipad and Pc )

Thanks
