Most providers have various speed levels / tariffs, though I'm not sure how competitive Ole are these days.

Most systems in the Quesada area are wireless 'Wimax' types, which are prone to speeds falling when more users are online etc.

SkyNetLink, now Telfy, (office in Rojales), I believe have a better speed offering, though you'd need to check for your specific location.

Variable is the short answer. The majority as far as I am aware are the same. I am with Telecable and have threatened them they are not providing the service I am paying for. I recently upped mine to 8mb and pay extra but it is still useless. I can't watch telly and be online at the same time. I have considered hard wiring instead of wifi thinking that might be better but don't want to shell out more money if it won't solve the problem.

I have to ask, what are you contracted for. In your contract with this service provider you will pay for a stated internet speed. If the internet speed you pay for is 6 Mbps and you are getting only 2.77Mbps ask for a rebate or move to another service provider. I did that with Movistar as although I contracted for UP TO 10Mbps, the cable infrastructure in Quesada meant I only ever got 3Mbps. I now have a new service provider TELFY and get my contracted 15 Mbps so have no problem with IPTV and surfing internet at the same time.

Would hard wiring help?

We are with Telfy and they are currently offering 50Mb fibre optic at €24.14 per month incl IVA which is an excellent price.

I dont know what the installation charges are but I am going to inquire whether we can upgrade from our current WIMAX service. It all depends if their fibre optic is in your area.
