No problems. Happy to help.

If you dont get to office, you can email them or give them a call from UK.

If you email them you need to put all the contract details that are on your bill, to identify yourself.

Just popped into the office in Guardamar and apparently my meter has not yet been activated for remote reading by me,hence not being able to see any data on the app.
Was told we would have to wait for the IBERDROLA distribution to activate, then my bills will then be monthly rather than every two months as it is now.

Thanks for all help.

Just as I thought it was the number 1 option.

Keep checking the app and it will start working when you are activated. I had my app for 6 months before the smart meter and it started as soon as the meter was installed.
Remember that until the meter is activated you will be only paying standing charge, so the first bill after activation will include all the unts used backwards to installation.
Why on earth Iberdrola install meters and not activate them goodness knows.
Glad you know now what the problem was, but shame you cant yet use the new app.
Have a good trip back to UK and be prepared for the cold!

Cheers Mike
I had a bill yesterday which covered the period from installation at 000000 to current reading so why it can’t be activated so I can see data is beyond me, but hey this is Spain.

I will check the app on a regular basis to see when it kicks in.

Having tried to load the app (unsuccessfully) over recent weeks, having read your post I tried again and with the required perseverance (clearly an Iberdrola customer necessity!) I am now on line. VOILLA!!!
Many thanks for a great post!! :text-goodpost: :text-thankyouyellow:

Andrew how did you get around the requirement for a telephone number, do you have a Spanish number? On the form it asks for a mobile number but only allows you to enter 8 digits, when a standard UK number has 11, therefor I couldn't move the form forward. I've contacted Iberdrola but so far no response.

You will need to use a Spanish mobile phone number, maybe ask a friend as I did then the 6 didgit number will be text through.

Hi - I'm new to the site but seems to be a very useful place for everything!!
I have just read your email trails with interest as I have just purchased a property in spain (Lo Crispin) and I need to change the meter to a smart meter so that I can keep an eye on the consumption - especially when my sons visit as they will go out for the day and no doubt leave everything switched on!.. Is it "easy" to arrange for a smart meter to be installed?

Regards Larry

Hi Larry,
We are in Lo Crispin and ours was changed whilst we were not there and not requested, but I think it is becoming a requirement that all meters must be smart by end of 2018, but I am sure someone will give update if I am incorrect.
I would just wait and see, but in the meantime it might be and idea to down load the 2 apps from IBERDROLA which will give you access to your bills and the other for access to a smart meter when it does get installed.

Incidentally I see you username includes Plymouth bit of a coincidence I too am originally from the “muff”
