Is anybody experiencing problems with their internet supplied by meganet, I had this installed back in September and have had issues ever since, I have paid a lot of money for this to be installed and just not getting the service they state they offer, my tv cuts out everyday due to the internet speed dropping I am supposed to be getting 40mgb per month however if it stops to 35mgb everything goes off sometimes for an hour if not for days, I have been advised I need a minimum of 5mgb for it to run sufficiently however it still doesn’t work. having visited the shop many times to try and sort the issue I have been told you are not in a contract so can go elsewhere however I don’t have another 150 euros to have it set up with another company

I am very frustrated and annoyed

It could be your internet, though it could also be an issue with the TV provider and a speed test won't give you an indicator of stability or if Meganet is throttling your portal. Ask them to make sure you have sufficient % speed allocated to IPTV through the modem set up.

Could be the following??

General internet instability - speeds dropping below box requirement, standard definition 2Mbps, only HD 5Mbps.

It is possible Meganet are throttling the specific portal for the TV, as they are a little light on resources in peak periods? They would not admit if is the case, as that is in contravention of EU net neutrality law, as is prioritising traffic (for example) for their own TV service.

It could be the TV provider also - if a fairly regular issue, you could try box at a similar time on someone else's (different ISP) connection & see how it behaves.

We advise our IPTV customers, if they have any issues during the day - let us know asap so we can make a live check on the exact channel - the majority of the time it's a localised ISP issue.

You could also test another IPTV service - there are plenty of free trials out there and see how they perform.

Sometimes a case of 'process of elimination' as to get IPTV, requires multiple services and pieces of equipment.

Hey, i think this is solid advice in previous reaction and i would look into it before considering a change. I have also quit a while meganet and have no problems. We are very happy with it and here best price and quality range compared with others.
Hope you can sort it out and wish you good luck!

Interesting thread. I'm trying to decide between Meganet and Dvblab. Meganet have the better deals, but most others in the community are with Dvblab.

Difficult to know what to do, really!

Any advice?

DvbLab give you the option of 3 or 5Mbs. However, we are on 3Mbs (it's all they had at the time) but often get over 7Mbs although it can drop to as low as 1.5Mbs sometimes.
We've been with them for some 7 years now. Any problems and they are sorted out very quickly and they are very helpful.
We have internet at the speed mentioned plus landline phone and it comes to €24 a month and we have never paid for any phone calls to anywhere which is a boon. Supposedly 0.01 cents a minute for the phone over a certain amount but we've never exceeded it.
Not been with meganet so I can't comment on it.

Thanks marcliff.

It's the fibre packages I'm interested in.

DvbLab offer 50MB for €29 per month...whereas Meganet offer (up to) 200MB for €30.

I have IPTV (supplied by TV Technology), and I just need to be sure that my connection isn't going to be throttled.

Go with dvblab as we have had nothing but problems with meganet from start to finish, we pay for 50mgb a month and if it drops to as little as 38 it all crashes sometimes for a day or so, still cannot receive an solution from them all they say is go elsewhere or it’s the tv box itself which we have had checked so we know this is not the case, I’m paying for a service I am not receiving and don’t want anyone else to have the issues I’m having

We are changing provider

Meganet

We have three properties with MEGANET in each. Found them extremely helpful and offered a very personal and quick service .
No issues at all.

We are on Meganet and have had no problems at all, ... we are on 50Mbs, clearly we don't always getting that, but it is generally very good and stable. ... (we used to have Cloud WiFi .. that was terrible, really terrible in every sense, so don't touch them with a barge pole!)
We want to take out the TV package next time out but they have told us that we have to step up to 200Mbs so I am not sure you would get decent TV on 40Mbs as stated, could it simply be too slow to support TV?
On slightly different tack, does anyone have the Email address or telephone number of Meganet Quesada, ... I need to know if their shop is open on 27th December ... best of luck with your TV ...
