Hi,
We have a Humax box, but now its remote controller is becoming temperamental..trying to bring up the TV guide is pretty difficult :text-givemebeer:
So is there anywhere we can get hold of a replacement original handset?
TIA

Just a suggestion - on mine I've found that changing the batteries more frequently helps a lot. For some strange reason Back and Exit seem more reluctant to work than other buttons as batteries discharge.

I still have my original Humax sat box but I'm on my 3rd remote control for it.
Got the replacements from Amazon uk but they aren't cheap as the original is about €20.
Amazon spain do a compatible remote at about €7 but I've never tried one of those.

Hi Dsj,
Thank you for replying, we've tried replacing the batteries, but this hasn't helped :-/
Thanks Marcliff, we will have a look at sourcing a replacement online.

Hi there
There was a similar problem like this. Me included. Have you tried resetting your box by unplugging it, then power up again. This worked for me.
If you google the remote control part number, there are suppliers who can sell for £16.00 and with free postage. Humax do not do reconditioned ones, except new ones at £27.00. Ebay sometimes has used ones. Hope this helps. Can not fault the Humax box - great piece of kit ....

Hi Beauly,
Yep, tried that too..we think it's more like the contact underneath the button itself is worn. Thanks for the info, we'll definitely have a look online. We've had the box for must be 4 years now, and are very happy with it.

I think you have a remote chance of getting one!

I have two Humax boxes, brilliant pieces of kit but the remote controls do tend to wear out before the boxes. Each time I need a new one, I get them from either Argos or Amazon UK delivered to family or friends whoever are coming out first but always keep a spare though.

Thank you Spikeyhair, I've had a quick look at Argos uk, but can't see a specific Humax handset, so I think Amazon is our best bet.
Thank you to all who've offered advice. :-)
