I have just asked SKY if I can transfer my account on moving to Spain. The repy was (yesterday) that they are only licensed for the UK and no other country. Any reception outside UK is spillage but not directly transmitted, believe it or not that was their message to me.

Possibly a question you shouldn't have asked - but you were not to know :( By telling them that you may have alerted them to put a note on your account.

If say nothing else, bring your Sky box over, plug it in and it should work (apart from the online/on-demand) as won't be plugged into a phone line or if it is NOT AVAILABLE - unless using an additional flashed VPN router, which best saved for another post - more effort than its worth?

As long as you keep UK bank account and don't tell them anything else, should be fine. If no UK address, then you could use a friend/family. There are companies (we work with) that can host addresses for expatriates with no UK base or bank account and want official Sky - however, as you would expect there is a cost for this type of service. If you already have Sky or friend/family to host - or even a multiroom box, you can do yourself cheaper than using an overseas agent.
