I have to say how much I appreciate this site. I don’t know anything like it in the UK where you can access help on a local basis and get problems solved so quickly. So thanks to all!

Thank you for your kind comments about TalkQuesada.
We also have a UK website where you can choose a separate forum for any area in the UK (if an area/town or city is not shown then we can add it for you) . It is relatively new (compared to TQ) and just starting to take off but as it gets more popular we are hoping that it will be as informative and helpful as our other forums. To search for your area just put in 'All forums' and then the name of your UK area. After finding your area the search box can be used to find info on anything you may need.

Some areas may have little or no activity at this stage (the UK is highly congested with towns/areas) but by using these forums and maybe just writing a little bit of helpful information, hopefully they will get going - Here's the link for those who are interested:

You do need to register a new account but I think you can use the same user name if you want and email address to register but you will need a new password.
If you have any queries about registering and using the site, just email [email protected]

Good luck with this venture Jan, really interesting to see if it takes off in any of the areas . I often thought it would be much harder to set up this kind of forum in the UK as have the impression that people coming to a new country and a new area are much more likely to be open to be engaging and helping each other out. But you never know ! All the best with it.

Yes, I believe you are right. In our part of the UK, people come from many different backgrounds and I would not use a tradesman that was not recommended by someone I knew personally, except in desperation.
