The solution to getting a Humax FreeSat box working fully in Spain is to install a LibertyShield VPN router (£17.99 from Amazon.co.uk) and subscribe to them for £49 per year. There is a superior model, which I use, at £59.99. These devices, like all VPNs, affect the speed so, a wired connection, rather than WiFi connection is best

It’s not the faff, as has been suggested, to set it up and is significantly cheaper than the IPTV solution touted locally.

So buying a router from the UK + a paid VPN service, in order to get catch-up on the regular channels, is not a faff? :D

This is not a comparable service, as the original poster asked regarding additional content such as sports. What was suggested above, will not provide that type of content.

Paul,

Frenchie admits to being technically minded and it’s not technically demanding. It’s input is simply connected to the existing router and it’s output connected to the Humax box, TV too if it’s a Smart TV.

Also, frenchie, in their original post, DID NOT specify additional channels.

Overall, it’s significantly cheaper than IPTV, with its €100+ outlay on a MAG box and the €200+ per annum subscription.
