One is where you have an old device such as a satellite box or DVD player that has a SCART connector for the output and you are attempting to connect this to a modern TV that only has HDMI connectors on the inputs.
The other scenario is where the satellite box/DVD player is newer only has an HDMI output and you're attempting to connect this to an older TV that only has a SCART connector as the input.
The two scenarios require two different solutions.
For the first scenario you need something like this:

For the second scenario you need a much more complex piece of equipment, and deep pockets. To be honest, in this situation you'd be better-off dumping the old SCART only TV and buying one with HDMI inputs.

I got one and it works fine . . . I use it for an Amazon stick to old tv . .

Posted: Sun Feb 02, 2020 7:30 pmThere is another option as a lot of new Smart TVs have a connector that is for connecting to a Scart but an HDMI cable does not fit so you need the model specific cable
