Hi all,

This may be a silly question but does anyone know whether BBC Iplayer, ITV Hub, All 4 and My5 are accessible via a SMART TV and internet connection in Spain? I'm just wondering whether that's the way to go or whether to access these you need a UK IP address and therefore the content would be blocked. Ideally I'd rather not have to pay for a TV package as well as the internet connection.

Any thoughts / experiences?

BBCIplayer and ITV Hub can be downloaded to some Smart tvs not all, much easier to get a Firestick Max and install them on the stick but you will need to you get a good VPN not a free one I use Windscribe cost is 39 euros per year

Yes, you’re correct content is blocked, so you’d need to view behind a VPN and sometimes you can’t access live tv.
Better buying yourself a IPTV subscription which can be loaded directly on to a Smart TV or via a firestick or android box. Plenty of suppliers around and a choice of a couple of thousand more channels.

You can use an app on your smart TV if LG or Samung, maybe other such as Sony.

Use a VPN app to access these.

Or if you wish to use a more comprehensive IPTV type service you can download IPTV type apps and connect with any provider. For example SmartSTB is offered on Sony/LG but there are many others too, just depends on compatibility with service provider you choose.

Firesticks used outside of Amazons own eco system (Netflix/Prime etc) are ultimately not the best solution, in terns of equipment, performance and software features and stability.
