ULTRA IPTV

We have been using a great IPTV service for years but it has been expensive at EUR 30 p.c.m. We recently purchased a new package outside TESCO's in Quesada for EUR 220 which included an ANDROID Box at EUR 140 and one years subscription for EUR 80. The problem was continuous "buffering" of live sport. Please note we have fibre optic cable with speed of 1000 Mbps (although we never get that speed). The IPTV supplier tried to fix the problem remotely then gave us a VPN without leading to any improvement. An example was the Champions League final where the new service "buffered" throughout, I then plugged in our old box (subscription was still active), a MAG box, and the picture was perfect. After numerous unanswered calls and messages he agreed to refund us for the ANDROID box but said the annual subscription was non-refundable. We had to cut our losses and accept being ripped off as there is no body to take our complaint. Why would the MAG box work great and the ANDROID Box "buffer"? Just to say beware when it comes to IPTV suppliers. Ideally they should offer a limited period free trial. Good luck!

We’ve had no problem at all with Ultra which we use as an outside box.
Next to no buffering and as a tennis fan has by far the best choice for tennis channels.
On the one occasion I needed to contact him, he replied instantly, but it wasn’t a fault with the service, I eventually found I’d dislodged my main powerline plug.

Have you asked to transfer your subscription to another device?

Did you get buffering during the CL final on all 100+ channels it was shown on?

Every IPTV system I’ve purchased has come with a free trial including Ultra!

But no,you can’t complain, because what you’ve purchased isn’t exactly legal.

Hi, Have not transferred the subscription. Buffering was on numerous channels with CL final but on my old box it was perfect. Ultra is probably ok for most people otherwise I suppose he would have an angry queue every time he sets up his stall ha ha!

. Try teeveetv. Works great for me. They recommend 30mbps for non buffering, I’ve only got 18mbps, yes eighteen, not fibre and only buffers very occasionally and I’m running 2 android tellys and 4 iOS phones/iPads simultaneously. Costs €80 per year plus €20 if you want multiroom but it it’s possible to get it for about €55 per year including multiroom if you get it from their app called telegram.

Original poster - you may wish to review info below. An €80 service may not give you a good standard of service. Would be curious to know what box you were offered.

TeeveeTV voted best in Europe - FAKE NEWS. Mind you in the TV business this type of nonsensical claim is normal. They are a generic white label shared service. They offer a quite small selection of channels compared to many other services.

As an IT professional of over 15 years, there is some absolutes in terms of performance that will make a difference. Also need to review internet providers - believe it or not, speed is not always as relevent as people think!

I spent a number of years on support testing these services and suspect I have tried and tested more services than most - it´s my job.

TV Services & Costs.

Every IPTV service company has hosting costs. Why is it, that some companies offer what appears to be a similar package but at half the price of another?

In order to reduce costs, servers have more people on them and often exceed the maximum capacity, so if you put twice the people on the same type of server, you reduce costs by half, but also reduce the quality of the service under loading. This is why many cheaper services have buffering issues.

I´ve also found quite a few other differences, such as the level of On demand content, general support, catch up type services - it´s only when you drill down the service / channels & on demand and overall stability.

The problem is, it is easy to knock up a generic website, borrow a 3rd party service and make a number of claims, with no background, experience which make it perfect for many cowboys to offer - no legaiity, taxes, or TV background experience.

Internet providers

We´ve seen clear cases of by definition espionage´ - Internet providers deliberately destabilizing yout TV as they have their own TV service, which by causing issues with your preferred provider they hope will move you across to them - rare, but does happen.

Speed tests are useless - STABILITY is key, so using a speed test to establish anything other than if you have internet ´at the time´or for the 30 seconds the test runs - is about all it is good for.

ISP´s can or may throttle during peak periods to protect their own resources - which is why you could have 2 people with the same boxes and TV service behave differently. Throttling the TV connection does not show up on a speed test and only affects the connection the ISP is throttling.

More than often issues are a combination of things - from not the best hardware or apps being used, to cheap services which cut corners - there´s cheap and there´s too cheap and you simply cannot deliver a high-quality service at a bargain price without compromising performance.

A lot of companies offer old Mag boxes or generic Android boxes or worse still Amazon Firesticks ( underpowered) - as part of the overall service hardware selection is also important as will give you better stability and also a lot more features and simply easier / better to use - so do not expect €30 of Firestick to perform the same as a device costing €100 more.

There is a vast difference in price between companies , but it’s all down to what service you require.
We have used Paul’s box as our main tv for over 4 years now.yes it’s more expensive, but it’s easier to navigate, has catch up on more channels than anyone else and the back catalogue of box sets and movies is unbelievable.
But we have a second box which has a different (more American) channel list just so I can get more variety when trying to find tennis on tv
