Hi can anyone help? Our bbc1 had been showing a message about needing a HD compatible TV or something similar. We would have thought our TV was. Anyway suddenly we have no picture but can hear sound. All our other channels are OK. Any suggestions?
We are with Telecable & were always happy with them. We always got a quick response. They have now been taken over by Excom & now they never answer their phones. Is anyone else finding this to be the situation?
Thanks

BBC SD channels on satellite will be closing on 8th January.
As per the banner that is on BBC One SD channel since August.
BBC channels will be HD only on satellite from 8th Jan.
So you need a HD receiver (Freesat HD, Sky HD, free to air HD receiver) to continue watching via satellite.

Makes no difference if your TV is HD or not, as you can watch HD channels on an SD TV..just the images will not be in HD.

But if you are getting your channels via a "non satellite" source, then this is a matter to take up with your tv provider, as obviously if they are using SD as their source, and you are seeing this banner, THEY need to change their source to a HD source.

But if you are getting sound no picture, on just one channel, then you need to talk to your TV provider...

Hi
Thank you for your replies.

It is definitely not the TV but yes I think we will need to try to get through to our provider. I was hoping to get an easy fix so I could watch Strictly, but it wasn't to be!!!
Thank you
